ABOUT

Welcome to my Jewelry CAD Portfolio

My journey in the jewelry industry goes back to Zacapa, Guatemala, where my grandfather opened up his first jewelry store in the 1980's. From that small Joyeria my father grew my grandfather's business and expanded to the United States. Growing up in my father's store, taking family trips to 47th street in New York City, and seeing the passion my father and grandfather had to help their communities create special moments has been extremely impactful for me. These memories have led me to not only work in the jewelry sales business across Rhode Island for over 10 years, but take my father and  grandfather's dream a step further to begin designing.

I loved being part of the client's journey in picking the perfect piece, but I also wanted to be part of the creative process for those clients that wanted a custom creation. My desire to create a special experience for every client led me to attend the Gemological Institute of America and further my knowledge through a variety of courses. I began with their Applied Jewelry Professional course, where I learned the fundamentals of diamond, gemstone, and jewelry composition. From there I enrolled in the Comprehensive CAD/CAM course at the Carlsbad, CA campus, learning the ins and outs of Rhinoceros 3D software by McNeal. I continued my education further by enrolling in a Zbrush Workshop to digitally sculpt and paint pieces. After which I enrolled in the GIA Graduate Pearl Course in New York to learn pearl grading. I was also able to enroll in the GIA Digital Jewelry Sketching Course, where I learned to use Sketchbook by Apple to be able to bring my client's ideas from their minds to a 2D form. At the moment I am enrolled in the GIA Rhino 7 Course to continue to improve my CAD stone setting skills and stay current with new updates. I am a life long learner and hope to continue to expand my jewelry knowledge throughout my lifetime.
